My blogging experience has led me through many hoops over the past couple of years. So…I have decided to forget talking about me–I’m a pretty boring guy and a busy one, anyway–so I’ve decided to attempt more of an online ministry with this blog.
The title of the blog is “Seeing New Light.” This is a term used by a Baptist forefather John Smyth to indicate the fullness of Scripture. Smyth advocated that we see “the new light that breaks forth” from the Bible. In other words, the Bible is authoritative, and we must always keep learning by reading through the lens of Christ’s life, death, and resurrection. The Holy Spirit can always teach us something if we have ears to hear. As a Baptist pastor, I stand by my 17th Century cohort in the faith. Throughout the days ahead, I hope to share some of the new light that hits me between the eyes on occassion.
